Born Pretty Store review

A couple of weeks ago I was lucky enough to be approached by a lovely lady from bornprettystore.com asking if I wanted to review some of their products, I hadn't heard of the website before but I had a look around on their website and there was so much to choose from and the prices where so reasonable so I thought 'why not?'.

The products I received were the flat contour brush which was the perfect size and really good quality for the price. The price for this brush was only £4.61 which is a great price considering the price for makeup brushes these days.

The other two products which I decided to review were the matte velvet long lasting waterproof gloss. The colours of these were gorgeous but they definitely weren't waterproof. When you first apply them they look lovely but after an hour they start to rub off. The colours I tried were shade 18 (image 1) and shade 22 (image 2).

I was lucky enough to be given a 10% off voucher for anyone thats interested in buying products from bornprettystore.com with promo code LAJH10  .

Trip to London

Last weekend I enjoyed a great day out in London with my Boyfriend, Matt. When we left in the morning it was freezing - the first day that really felt like Autumn.

We started of the day by going for some breakfast in a really unusual and unique breakfast cafe called The Cereal Killer Cafe. It was absolutely amazing, they have over 120 different cereals to choose from and over 30 different milks to choose from. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes cereal (unlike myself but my boyfriend loved it). Even if you don't like/want cereal there are other things to choose from like pop tarts and toast.

This trip was all part of my birthday present from Matt, He gave me a red letter day experience to have a make up lesson at my favourite makeup brand, Benefit, which was such a great experience and even better I had a voucher to spend in there after which I used to buy Porefessionals which I have loved for ages but sadly ran out of, and the amazing high beam highlighter. The makeup artist was lovely, she made me feel so comfortable and made sure I was happy with the makeup checking to see if  I had any preferences on colours etc.

After I had finished in benefit we had quite a lot of time to kill before going to the restaurant where we had already pre-booked a table, so we done some shopping and a bit of exploring. Of course I had to go to the new Lush store down Oxford Street and ended up spending a bit more than I intended... oopsy.

In the evening we went to the most amazing Italian ever, called Arcadia. Both myself and Matt had the bolognese which was probably the nicest bolognese I have ever had! For starter we also shared some olives and bread which were also lovely. Sadly we didn't take any pictures in here but the restaurant itself was so nice and all the staff were very friendly and attentive.

Room inspo

I have decided to write a post about something a little bit different to my usual make up and fashion posts, I am going to be writing about something I and many others have been really interested in lately.. interior design.

I really love pristine white rooms (very different to my own) with little accents of colour. So I have decided to redecorate my room and show you a few things on my room decor wish list.

August Birchbox

Today my Birchbox arrived (best delivery of the month) how exciting! and I was so impressed with this months box. Not only was the packaging itself great but everything inside was just as good.

August was the #BEAUTYJUNKIE box and was covered in the cutest beauty emojis, which I loved. Inside were some stickers to match the packaging as well as plenty of other great goodies.

All the beauty items were in a really good quality draw string bag to keep them all safe and will come in handy for storage.

In this months box there was 3 makeup samples which are my favourite things to receive in my birchbox so that was exciting, and all 3 items were from my favourite makeup brands which was even better. Inside was a sample of the Benefit high beam which I have wanted to try for so long after so many people have spoke about it,  the Laura Mercier Kohl eye pencil in Black Violet and the glow enhancer by Illamasqua.

I am also very excited to try the other 3 products which came in my box which were the Rituals body smoother, BioNike cleansing water and Kebelo clarifying shampoo. I wouldn't of thought to try any of these 3 products before so it is great that they were in here so I could give something different a go.

Prom 2015

A couple of days ago I had my sixth form leavers prom which was such a great night. The venue where it was held was Horwood House, The building and gardens were beautiful and looked great for when we all had our professional photos taken.
Myself, my friends and my boyfriend all stayed over night which was good fun as we were all able to drink and get ready together.
The dress I wore was a long navy fitted dress with a slit up the leg and straps which crossed at the back, unfortunately I did't get many pictures of the dress itself but I will add a few pictures in and add the link to the dress.
I decided to do all my hair and makeup myself and I am quite particular with how I want them to look so I will add the links bellow to all the makeup that I wore and some close up pictures.

Homemade Milkshakes

I've seen so many people with these really cute mason drink jars lately and when I came across them for only 75p I couldn't help myself.

Everyone tends to put refreshing smoothies in them but I'm not a smoothie person so I thought I would give some homemade milkshakes a go.

Ingredients (per 1 serving)
3 scoops of vanilla ice cream
150ml of semi skimmed milk
Hand full of ingredients of your choice

Recipe
Making homemade milkshakes are much easier and nicer than you think. You only need the very minimum amount of ingredients and you are able to add any flavour you want (I used maltesers).

All you need to do is put all the ingredients into a blender and mix for 30 seconds, and there you have it... your homemade milkshake.

Where I've been!

As some may of noticed, I have been absent from the whole blogging world for a couple of months.

The main reason for this being I had A levels which took up a lot of my time and I've had a lot of revision/coursework to do, but I am now back blogging ( on my new macbook:) ).

So since my last blog post I have passed my driving test which was exciting so I am now driving around in my little KA. I have also left 6th form and got myself an apprenticeship as an events assistant which I am so pleased about and looking forward to started next month. The final thing is that it was my 18th birthday a couple of days ago which is where I got my macbook from:).

I thought I would just write this quick post letting you know I am now getting back into blogging and why I haven't been blogging recently. I will now attach a couple of pictures from different things I've been up to the last couple of month to finish of this post.

Dior Star foundation review

My foundation collection is forever growing, but it was only recently when I discovered the amazing Dior star foundation. This is a brightening foundation which feels really light on the skin, the coverage is enough to cover up any redness or blemishes without feeling to thick on the skin. This foundation has a two-dimensional light formula which gives the skin a beautiful glow without it looking shiny.

Before

After

The best way I have found to apply this foundation is with a beauty blender as it leaves the skin looking so radiant and smooth. After applying the foundation your skin looks flawless without looking like you have to much make up on.

A lot of foundations that say there long lasting never seem to last longer than a couple of hours but I have really found this one to be very long lasting on my skin without having to set it with a setting powder. Another thing which is good about the Dior star foundation is the 12 shades to choose from all of which adapt to you original skin tone.
