Winter everyday outerwear

As you may of seen in a recent post, I have styled a country outerwear outfit, so I thought I would do more of an everyday outwear look.

In this outfit I am wearing a pair of plain blue jeans with a plain white t-shirt so its very basic, ideal for an everyday casual outfit. I also paired this with a collarless coat which is very thin so not ideal for those really cold days, but I have just found collarless coats so easy to style and thrown on over a plain outfit this winter. I've also just thrown on a basic scarf to add a bit more detail to the outfit.

Favourite eye shadow palletes

I have loved experimenting with different eye shadow looks recently and these are what I have found to be my go to palettes.

I haven't had the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette for very long but ever since I have had it I've just constantly found myself reaching for it. All the colours in this palette are so wearable and lovely, this palette has all the colours you need to create the perfect smokey eye. I love how pigmented all of the colours are and how easy they are to blend.
My next favourite palette which I am a big fan of is the 17 Glam Rock eye shadow palette. This is my go to palette for when I am going for a darker evening look. The colours in this are just great for creating a vampy eye look. All these colours have a slight shimmer to them but nothing to glittery and over-powering.

The final eye shadow palette which I have been loving lately is the Ellen Tracy eye shadow quad. This pallet is mainly for creating a brown smokey eye as it has 3 different shades of brown and one light shade. All the colours in this palette are so pigmented.

Makeup brush review

I've seen so many people trying the U-Spicy makeup brushes lately and I have only heard good things about them so I thought I would try them out.
There are so many different makeup brush brands around now, so its hard to know where to start and whether they are worth the money as a lot of them are very expensive. The thing which first caught my eye was the price of them.... £16.99 on Amazon (RRP £35.99), A lot of makeup brushes these days are up to 3 times that price for just one brush.
This set of brushes comes with 5 face brushes and 5 eye brushes. These brushes are available in a wide range of different colours but I decided to go for the white and gold one just because I liked the look of them.

The brushes are really nicely presented in a a purple box with a ribbon tied around it, the brushes that come in this set are a flat brush, tapered brush, flat angled brush, angled brush, round brush, precision flat brush, precision tapered brush, precision flat angled brush, precision angled brush and a precision round brush.

So far I really love all the face brushes in this set,  they apply my makeup so seamlessly and beautifully, I have now found myself in love with applying my foundation with a brush again instead of a beauty blender. As for the eye brushes, i'm not blown away by them but there not at all bad for the price.  Overall I really recommend these brushes to anyone that is looking for a new set of reasonably priced makeup brushes, you can't get much better than these for the price you pay.

Is 2015 the year for suits?

A couple of weeks into 2015 and we have already seen two major entertainment awards, the People's choice award and the Critics choice award. I'm one of those people that loves spending time looking at what celebrities are wearing on the red carpet.

A trend that stood out to me at both of these awards is women styling suits to give a classy and unusual take to the red carpet style. At the Critics choice award we saw Andrea Risborough style this oversized green suit from the Escada autumn/winter collection. I personally don't like the way Andrea has styled this suit at all, I just don't think it does her figure any favors and the color makes her look very washed out.
We also saw the beautiful Jennifer Aniston style this rather revealing red Gucci suit, but has made it even more interesting and daring by adding very delicately placed gold jewelery.
At the Peoples choice award we also saw a couple of our TV stars styling up suits in different ways. The suits styled at the Peoples choice award certainly weren't as colorful as at the Critics choice award. We saw Ariel Winter style the black Smythe suit jacket worn as a dress to add a feminine twist which I really like as it's different to how other celebrities have styled the suit.
We also saw Bella Thorne style up a black suit on the red carpet. Bella wore this Giorgio Armani suit which has a low cut jacket with silk detailing. This is a very simple way to style a suit and very formal.

2014 Favourites

I know its a lot later than when others have posted their 2014 favorites but I have only just had the chance to come round to write it. I have just selected around 12 of my favorite products which I have loved throughout 2014.

Johnsons face care wipes
I used to just pick up any face wipes which I came across or that were on special offer but 2014 I have just loved the Johnsons face care makeup be gone wipes. They are so cleansing and removes all your makeup (even waterproof mascara) so quickly and easily.

Formula X drying spray
I am one of those people that can't stand waiting for nail polish to dry so when I found this product in sephora I was super excited. All you do is spray one layer on your nails after you've painted them and the nail polish will be dry within 2 minutes its great!

Charles Worthington sleek & smooth serum
My hair goes so frizzy and brittle once I have washed and blow dryed it so I decided to try out different hair serums to try and help add some moisture into my hair. Since I have been using this product it has left my hair completely frizz free and gives an amazing glossy finish through my hair.

MAC studio fix fluid
I have been looking for a good coverage foundation for such a long time and I have finally found one which is suitable for my skin with a vast range of colors. It blends into my skin so effortlessly and last such a long time which is great for a night out or even if you just want your makeup to stay for the whole day.

Bobbi Brown lipstick - Pink Peony
I've always been a MAC lipstick lover but lots of people had told me how nice the formulation of the Bobbi brown lipsticks are so I thought I would give them a go. This has been my everyday go to shade the past few months, it lasts so long and is so wearable.

St Morez fake tan
This is such a lovely fake tan to apply, providing you with a lovely natural tan which lasts up to a week.  I used to hate mousse fake tans but since using this one I have loved them, it allows you to see exactly where you are applying it doesn't leave any streaks.

Malin+Goetz lip moisturizer
I always struggle with dry lips no matter what season it is but this lip moisturizer has helped me so much the past few months and feels so moisturizing when you apply it. You only need a very small amount and lasts such a long time.

Toni & Guy mousse
As I have such long and heavy hair it really weighs my hair down making it very flat once I have dried it, so this hair mousse has helped add so much more volume into the roots of my hair.

Soap and Glory scrub of your life
I have been a very big fan of exfoliators in 2014 and this body exfoliator leaves your skin feeling so smooth and smells absolutely amazing, it has the typical soap and glory scent to it which I personally love.

No7 soft and soothed face cleanser
I hate putting anything to harsh onto my skin so when I found this product I was just so amazed at how nice  and delicate it felt on your skin but also left my skin feeling so clean and refreshed.

Benefit hoola bronzer
In 2014 I became a huge fan of bronzing and contouring and this bronzer has just been the perfect shade for my skin to give me a nice glow over my makeup without making me look to orange.

Body Shop BB cream
On a day to day basis I really don't like wearing foundation as it feel so heavy on my skin and a lot of foundations just tend to look cakey on my skin but this product has just been a lovely alternative giving me a light bit of coverage and some added color.

Winter country look

Even though the weather has been miserable and gloomy lately I have tried styling my outfits with a bit of colour to lighten the mood slightly. I might be a bit late getting the pink coat staple in my wardrobe but I've just loved being able to throw it on over a dull outfit when i'm going out in the cold.

I decided to put together a country outerwear look for those country lovers first and I have an urban outerwear look planned for the future.

Everyday makeup routine

This is my everyday makeup routine for when I go to sixth form or when i'm not doing anything particularly special.

Base
To start with I use my beauty blender to apply The body shop all-in-one BB cream in shade 00 all over my face to even out my skin tone and give me a light bit of coverage. After this I conceal under my eyes and over any blemishes with the Rimmel wake me up concealer in the shade ivroy. Once I have applied my concealer I then use a face brush to apply MAC studio fix powder in shade NW10 all over my face.

Cheeks/Contour
I contour my cheeks with the contour shade in the sleek contour kit in light with a contour brush to add a bit of definition to my face, following this I lightly brushed all the colours in the Estee Lauder Michael Kors pure colour blush on the apples of my cheek with a blusher brush. To highlight my face I use the Maybelline dream touch lumi concealer in the shade ivory under my eyes and across the top of my cheeks and over the top of this I apply MAC in for a treat to emphasise the highlighted area

Eyes/eyebrows
I use the Estee Lauder intense kajal eyeliner in the shade blackened black in the corner of my top and bottom lashes and really smudge it out with a blending brush. For my eyelashes I use eye lash curler to curl them followed by two layers of the Max Factor false lash effect mascara in black to give really full looking lashes. For my eye brows I use the soap and glory archery brow tint in shade love is blonde to outline my eyebrows and fill them in using the powder in the benefit brow zings pallet in shade light, To finish of my eyebrows I use the Maybelline brow drama in deep blonde to give them a long lasting finished look.

Lips
Before I start applying my makeup I moisturised my lips with the eos lip balm in the scent summer fruits. After I applied all my makeup I lined my lips with the No7 lip liner in nude and filled them in the the Bobbi brown lipstick in Pink Peony.
